A mid-19th century manuscript cook book containing recipes and notes on household management. Written in a notebook, quarter-leather bound. Appears to be mainly English recipes but with the occassional reference to hot climate fair like Life Guards' Pudding and To Cure Hams in a Hot Climate. Some recipes taken from standard English cook books including A New System of Domestic Cookery by ME Rundell and Mrs. McClintock's Recipes for Cookery and Pastry-Work. Includes a recipe for Saxe Coburg Soup credited to the Cafe de Paris in Melbourne from December 1863.
