Description

Catalogue of an exhibition held at SASA Gallery, Adelaide, 22 February-25 March 2011.
The curatorial premise of the exhibition Vague Possibilities draws on the French curator and critic Nicholas Bourriaud's (1965-) ideas of Relational Aesthetics and Surrealist notions of chance and play. The five selected artists are invited to respond to a curatorial brief that includes developing artwork (installation, video and performances) for staging in the gallery that set up scenarios that engage the public and are likely to create surprising encounters and open up unexpected possibilities.
Catalogue essay by external scholar: Dr Edward Colless.
Curator & editor: Dr Mary Knights.
Artists: Ray Harris, Matt Huppatz, Monte Masi, James Marshall & Amy Spiers.
