Content: Lectionary (Epistolarium). Principally with Epistle readings, with Leviticus being treated as an Epistle. Large Formal Gothic Minuscule. Dark Brown Ink. Initials and titles rubricated. All passages begin with Fratres, the F in large red 2-line majuscules. The titles (all written in red) are 1r: Feria vi. Ad Thessalonicenses; Ad Ephesios. 1v: Feria vi. Ad Corinthios; Lectio libri Levitici. 2r: Ad Corinthios ... Ad Thesslonicenses. 2v: Feria vi. Ad Corinthios; Feria vi. Ad Galathas. The passages often show that they were to be used on a Friday, without specifying which Friday (possibly the Friday after Pentecost, because the piece from Leviticus was usually said in the week after Pentecost.

From the Monash Rare Books collection of over one hundred fragments of medieval manuscripts and early printed books from the twelfth to sixteenth centuries that had belonged to the world-renowned authority on medieval palaeography (the study of handwriting), Professor Bernhard Bischoff (1906-1991).

Physical Size: Vellum bifolium (260mm x 367mm, unfolded). Mended with sticky tape at centre top of unfolded bifolium. Previously used as a binding, with traces of the book's title on the top of the spine (partially under the sticky tape).
