Manuscript of a travel diary and commonplace book. With ms. inscription on front fly-leaf: "Ralph Hargrave. With kind regards from Ann Creswick. September 1856." MS has leather binding and lock, with a gold gilt title on front cover. Several poems are loosely inserted. Flags and pendants used in Marryat's universal code of conduct, image of Monk's Ferry hotel and Criterion hotel, drinks list, bill of fare, poems, newspaper clippings, maps are tipped-in. MS seems to have two scribes other than Ralph Hargrave.

Includes registry of ships latitude, longitude and distances sailed.
