2 March 1944. Surveyed by Liet. D.M. Gordon H.M.S "Royalist" 1848 with additions from various admiralty surveys to 1926-33. Coastline and topography south of Tg. Batu from maps of the survey dept,, Sarawak to 1934. Soundings in upright figures by J.W. Reed, H.M.S. "Rifleman" 1863. All bearings are true & are given from seaward. Underlined figures on the drying banks and rocks express the heights in feet above the datum to which the soundings are reduced, other heights are given in feet above high water springs. For abbreviations see admiralty chart 5011. Soundings in fathoms reduced approximately to the level of Indian spring low water. The longitudes on this chart depend upon Tg. Baram lighthouse being in long. 113, 58'24.99"E (1929). Engraved 1852. New edition April 1864, 19th July 1935. date top corner 6-3-44. Includes chart of tidal information. and conversion table. Reproduced by Hydrographic Branch, Syndey, from British Admiralty Charts.
