4 August 1944. From surveys by Captain E.F.B, Law, commanders P.S.E. Maxwell, N.A.C. Hardy and W.C. Jenks H.M. surveying ship "Herald" 1929-1938. Westward of Tanjong Datu from the Netherlands government chart of 1908, additional topography from Sarawak government maps to 1937. Work in hairline enlarged from smaleer scale surveys. With additions and corrections to 1940. All bearings are true. Underlined figures on drying banks and rocks, express the heights in feet above the datum to which the soundings are reduced. All other heights are expressed in feet above mean high water springs. For abreviations see admiralty chart 5011. Soundings in fathoms. Includes table of tidal information, conversion table of fathoms to feet. 2nd map surveyed by Lt K.S.B. Collins under the direction of Lt Com. N.A.C. Hardy H.M. surveying ship "Herald" 1931.
