Hand-tinted photograph from a lacquered album produced for the tourist trade in Japan. Albums contain a selection of commercial photographs, showing Japanese scenic views, gardens, costumes, traditions and everyday life. Includes ceremonies, priests, samurais, actors, people of various professions, unnamed persons, dancers, rituals like hara-kiri, and examples of costumes.
