Abstract

The Caulfield Campus of Monash University has a long history of teaching of art theory and practice. Initially established as Caulfield Institute of Technology in 1968, the campus became Chisholm Institute of Technology in 1982 before merging with Monash University in 1990. Over the years, artists have used the campus as a space to learn and create, and the library's collection of art exhibition catalogues and related ephemera has developed to support both research and artistic inspiration.

The growing online collection of Caulfield Art Exhibition Catalogues and Ephemera includes printed material relating to artists and their works, with a special focus on the output of Australian creatives. Many of the items are unique and some have only previously been held in uncatalogued collections. Items have been gathered via donations from galleries, artists, alumni and from MADA (the Monash Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture).
